The Village of Livestock Farmers and Homemade Products
Bare is primarily a livestock farming region where generations of locals have dedicated themselves to cattle breeding and the production of traditional, organic products. In collaboration with local farmers, we offer you the opportunity to taste and purchase premium homemade goods such as cheese, kajmak, and cured meats, all made using traditional methods. These products are a result of the hard work and dedication of the local people, who live in harmony with nature and their animals. Everything we offer is carefully selected and comes directly from the hands of those who respect nature and tradition, ensuring the highest quality and authentic flavors.
How to Reach Village Bare?
There are multiple ways to reach Village Bare, depending on where you are coming from:
- Via Mioska and Krnja Jela – This route takes you through untouched landscapes and offers stunning views of the mountains, perfect for nature lovers.
- Route through Šavnik – Kosorica – Boan (R18) – If traveling from Šavnik, follow the R18 road towards Boan, then turn towards Bare. This road is newly built and well-maintained, ensuring a smooth drive through the mountains.
- From Žabljak via Gornja and Donja Bukovica – If coming from Žabljak, you can take the road through Bukovica and Boan, which leads directly to Bare. This scenic route offers breathtaking views along the way.
- Alternative route via Timar – There is a shorter road through Timar, but due to its poor condition, we do not recommend it.
No matter which route you choose, the road through Boan (R18) offers the best driving conditions, allowing you to enjoy stunning landscapes as you approach Village Bare.
